What is telehealth?
Telehealth or online therapy is when a therapist uses technology such as a computer or phone to have a therapy session. It’s a different experience to face-to-face therapy – some people really love being online.
Allows access to therapy when people are in lockdown and can’t do face-to-face sessions and suits people who prefer the comfort and safety of their own home. This includes NDIS funding for Incontinence/Continence assessments by Nursing Bears specialists.
Nursing Bears use a virtual meeting platform called Zoom for telehealth sessions. There is no cost for you to access Zoom for your session, and it is a proven, secure and reliable platform. Zoom uses encryption which ensures privacy and confidentiality at a higher level than other options such as Facetime or a regular phone call.
Telehealth includes funding for low cost AT. Participants are able to spend up to $1500 on low cost AT items from their existing budgets. Participants should not spend more than $750 on electronic devices needed to maintain existing services such as a standard tablet computer or iPad.
